UPDATE: Charges laid following Nanaimo stabbing

UPDATE: Joyce Gloria Howard, 19, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault following an early morning stabbing on Mar. 23, according to Nanaimo RCMP.

Howard was taken into custody along with three others after police found a 19-year-old man in an alley with multiple stab wounds Sunday morning. The others were not charged and eventually released. Police believe Howard got into an argument with the victim which resulted in her allegedly stabbing him several times.

She will be held in custody until her next court appearance on Mar. 25.

The victim is still in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

RCMP say officers found a 19-year-old man in an alley bearing multiple stab wounds Sunday morning.

He was rushed to hospital and is expected to recover.

Police say a fight occurred in a nearby apartment.

Police say those arrested are between the age of 13 and 19.

Officers say the investigation is ongoing and charges are being considered.
