It has only been six days, but still no one has come forward to claim the $50 million Lotto Max ticket from last Friday’s draw.

The ticket, sold in Langley B.C., is the sole winner of the multi-million dollar jackpot and ties for the largest lottery prize ever won in B.C. The winner does have 52 weeks to claim the prize from the draw date.

“We’ve seen people come in the first day after the draw, we’ve seen people come in 48 weeks after the draw,” said Chris Fairclough, spokesperson for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

He said with any win like this they generally see the same pattern. The winner tells their family, then consults a financial adviser and finally prepares to face the media and the cameras.

“To prepare for a different life than the one they had pre-draw,” said Fairclough.

Winning tickets for two MAXMILLION prizes on the same draw were also sold in B.C. A ticket sold in Surrey won $1 million and another Port Alberni will claim $333,333.40, sharing the win with two other tickets.

In addition, a ticket holder in the Malahat – Juan de Fuca region of Vancouver Island, who said ‘Yes’ to the Extra, will claim $500,000 after matching all four numbers on the same draw.
