WINNIPEG – A young girl says a man tried to abduct her on a street in River Heights Wednesday morning.
Police say it happened in the area of Arbuthnot Street and Warsaw Avenue just before 9 a.m.
The 11 year old girl told officers that “while walking to school an unknown male grabbed her by the arm and attempted to pull her down Arbuthnot. The suspect never spoke and the victim was able to break free and run home,” police said in a news release Wednesday.
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, 50-60 years of age, short with a small build and a mole on his face. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, maroon toque with pompom and scarf around his mouth.
Anyone who could help police with the investigation is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
