UPDATE: Police search for suspects in southwest Edmonton stabbing

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is asking for the public’s help in locating two men after a stabbing in the city’s southwest sent a man to hospital in critical condition early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a weapon’s complaint in the area of Dechene Road, just east of 184 Street, around 6:00 a.m.

Police say they arrived to find a 34-year-old man outside a residence, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Investigators were told the man came home and the the two suspects were inside his house. According to police, an altercation broke out and the 34-year-old suffered serious stab wounds.

The man was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police say the suspects left the house and fled the scene in a vehicle that was parked nearby.

Investigators do not believe the assault was random.

Officers say the description of the suspects is vague, but they are looking for two black men in their mid-20s.
