UPDATE: First court appearance for 28-year-old charged with second degree murder

LETHBRIDGE-28-year-old Trina Thomas appeared by closed circuit TV in Taber court Tuesday, keeping her head down throughout the proceedings.

She is facing one count of second degree murder after a dispute at a residence on March 14 that turned violent.

The autopsy report was conducted Monday, and police confirm 47-year-old Howard Sakebow suffered a fatal stab wound, “He succumbed to his injury, that injury was a stab wound just below his clavicle on the left side of his body,” says Insp. Graham Abela with the Taber Police Service.

Insp. Abela said Thomas was known to police, and she also had a previous romantic relationship with Sakebow several years ago.

Trina Thomas is being represented by Lethbridge lawyer Greg White. She has been remanded in custody and will make her second court appearance April 22.
