WINNIPEG – Former Manitoba Bisons defensive tackle Izzy Idonije is returning to the city where he enjoyed his greatest success.
The Chicago Bears signed the 33-year-old free agent Brandonite to a one-year contract.
After spending nine seasons with the Bears, Idonije tested free agency following the 2012 season, but wound up signing with the Detroit Lions on a minimum salary and only had limited success, recording just seven tackles and a half sack.
Idonije played for the Manitoba Bisons from 2000-02, leading them to the Vanier Cup game in 2001.
