Calgary woman upset after receiving a parking ticket after she had already paid

Impark Canada admits it made a mistake after a woman received a parking ticket after she paid to park.

Nancy Kan parked her vehicle at Sunridge Professional Centre for a dentist appointment last Thursday.

She went to pay at one of two ticket machines where there was a lineup of about eight people.

Kan waited in line, paid for her parking, and then helped a senior in line behind her who was having difficulty with the machine.

Kan’s daughter-in-law, Emily Yeung, says that in the time it took Kan to help the woman, her mother-in-law was given a $50 ticket.

“The funniest thing is the time stamp between two tickets is one minute apart,” Yeung explains. “So are we really down to the race as to how fast you can press the button and race back to your car?”

After Yueng and Kan complained to Impark, the company agreed to rescind the ticket.
