A worker has been killed at a coal mine in southeastern B.C.
Fifty-nine-year-old Miles Lorenz of Alberta died in an accident Sunday morning while he was working at Teck’s Coal Mountain Operations, about 30 kilometres southeast of Sparwood B.C.
The coroners service says Lorenz, a water truck driver, was filling his truck with water at the mine when he was hit by falling rock.
He was rushed to hospital but could not be resuscitated.
The accident is now being investigated by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, along with the B.C. Coroner.
