MONTREAL – It’s not quite wedding season, but future brides and grooms are already planning the big day,or in the case of a South Asian wedding, days!
Thousands packed the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Saint-Laurent at the second annual Montreal Shaadi Show.
People had the opportunity to visit over 50 vendors to help them plan their wedding, offering catering, entertainment, jewellery, accessories and fashion.
It was also a chance for local designers to show off their different traditional designs with models on the cat walk.
Organizers were inspired to start the event after they noticed that other wedding shows in Montreal didn’t fit the needs of their own community.
“There’s a lot of bridal shows but there’s not really a show that caters to the South Asian community,” explained one of the organizers.
“Here we have a lot of Indian wedding wear for both men and women and at those shows you can’t really see those.”
This is the first show in Montreal to showcase everything for a South Asian wedding , under one roof.
