CARNDUFF, Sask. – A wild police chase in Manitoba and Saskatchewan involving a stolen truck from Saskatoon came to an end 30 minutes after a spike belt blew-out three tires on the truck.

It started on Tuesday after a masked man armed with a rifle robbed a store in Melita, Man.

The following day, RCMP received a call of a gas and dash in the Manitoba community. The description of the vehicle matched that of the one from the armed robbery.

An attempt to stop the truck was unsuccessful and the driver headed down rural roads and into Saskatchewan.

A spike belt was deployed which caused three tires to blow out, however the driver continued in his attempt to elude police while driving on three rims.

The chase came to an end 30 minutes later when the driver attempted to go around police vehicles on Highway 8 near Carnduff, Sask. and ended up stuck in a ditch.
