Vehicle crashes through storefront in Winnipeg break-in

WINNIPEG — Thieves drove a vehicle through the front of a St. James store on Friday morning.

The thieves appeared to use the vehicle as a break-in instrument, crashing it through the glass front of the Easyhome on Empress Street near Ellice Avenue at about 3:30 a.m.

They stole various items from the lease-to-own store before driving off again, police said.

By the time police arrived, the vehicle and thieves had left the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
