Michael J. Fox urges NBC to give his series another shot

TORONTO — Michael J. Fox, whose eponymous comedy series was pulled off the schedule last month after less than a full season, said he doesn’t believe “this journey is finished.”

The Alberta-born, B.C.-raised star told The Hollywood Reporter he would love to continue with the show and added “Family Ties was nowhere until the third season.”

Twenty-two episodes of The Michael J. Fox Show were completed but only 15 episodes aired before NBC took it off the schedule prior to the Sochi Olympics.

The network said the remaining episodes might be broadcast in the spring.

In Canada, the series aired on Global.

Fox said the remaining episodes “can attract an audience and keep it” if the show is given “a more advantageous spot on the schedule.”

He said the show was up against the wildly popular The Big Bang Theory on Thursday nights.

“Was I disappointed by the ratings? It probably has to do with what I deal with on a day-to-day basis, but I don’t process things that way,” said Fox, who suffers from Parkinson’s.

“I don’t feel bad. I don’t feel angry. I don’t feel like I need to point fingers about time slots and things like that.”
