TORONTO – The majority of Veridian Connections customers have had their power restored following an outage Wednesday morning.
Nearly 5,000 customers were without electricity at the height of the outage which began around 6 a.m.

The electricity distributor said the area affected was from Church Street to Pickering Beach Road, south of Bayly.
The cause of the outage is unknown and crews are investigating.
A tweet by the company said only 20 customers are without power as of 7: 30 a.m.
