PEACHLAND — You know that spring is just around the corner when communities begin issuing water quality advisories.
The District of Peachland has issued a boil water notice because of spring run-off and turbidity in Trepanier Creek.
They say health risks are minimal but advise water users to boil their water for at least a minute.
“Interior Health recommends that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice,” the District says on its web site.
“For those at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits or vegetables, making juice or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.”
Spring run-off and turbidity peaks between April and June.
