Vancouver police are looking for any information on a trail of blood that was found spanning a few blocks near the site of a suspicious death Sunday morning.
The trail stretches from Scotia Street and East 6th Avenue to the south lane of East 6th Avenue and St. George.
It was found during a police canvass of the area after an elderly man was found severely injured in a house on East 6th Avenue and Brunswick Street at around 6 a.m. Sunday.
The 70-year-old man was taken to hospital, but later passed away.
Police are speaking with a person of interest in the case and are treating the death as suspicious.
Investigators say the trail has a significant amount of blood, but does not appear to be connected to the suspicious death.
They say they do not know where the blood came from and are reaching out to anyone who may have been injured late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
The blood will be submitted for DNA analysis.
Anyone with information is asked to call Vancouver police.
