Drug trafficking ring spanning 2 provinces busted by police

SASKATOON – Six people have been arrested after a police investigation of a drug trafficking ring spanning two provinces. On March 5, members of the Saskatoon integrated drug enforcement street team began investigating drug trafficking originating in Saskatchewan.

Investigators tracked suspects going from Kindersley to Saskatoon, to Edmonton and then back to Saskatchewan.

Once the suspects were near Kindersley, police conducted a traffic stop.

A 39-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman from Kindersley were arrested.

Subsequently, three addresses in Kindersley were searched along with two in Saskatoon.

Police seized various amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine, ketamine, marijuana, a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, cash, a cash counter and drug packaging.

A 34-year-old Kindersley man and a 27-year-old Saskatoon man were charged in connection to these searches.

The Edmonton serious organized crimes unit became involved leading to two other arrests.

Many of the same types of drugs were seized after a home was searched in Edmonton.

Multiple police agencies worked for 53 straight hours over the weekend to conclude this investigation.
