SASKATOON – A Saskatoon man has pleaded guilty in provincial court to illegally hunting deer in Saskatchewan.

Harvey Domoslai pleaded guilty to hunting without a licence and using another person’s hunting licence.

He was charged after a call was made to the Turn In Poachers hotline.

Conservation officers found two partial deer carcasses dumped in a remote location. One carcass had a licence seal attached.

Domoslai admitted to an officer that he shot two whitetail deer when he only had a licence for one and used another person’s licence in an attempt to legalize the second deer.

“Respect for hunting limits is always an important component of effective wildlife management but especially so in a year like this, when we know that whitetail populations are down in many areas,” said Ken Aube with the Ministry of Environment.
