REGINA – The young people of Moose Jaw are looking for more to do.
On Thursday, students had the opportunity to suggest some concrete ways to improve their community.
A youth forum gave dozens of young people in Moose Jaw the chance to share their thoughts, ideas and hopes for the city’s future – to activity staff and police members.
“Without that voice, it’s very difficult to plan an exceptional program for our community,” said Christine Boyczuk, event coordinator.
“I know that if we can help the youth with activities and programs it will keep them out of trouble,” said Philip Simms, YMCA youth program facilitator.
Some topics discussed were enhancing transportation to get to and from the Yaracentre to participate and additional venues to socialize.
“I’m not asking them to build us a new dance club, I’m asking that they consider what our overall opinions are and make some become reality,” Chad Stephens, high school student.
