MONTREAL – Ellen Degeneres may have broken Twitter records when she took this star-studded selfie at the 86th annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

Now, just hours after Premier Pauline Marois announced Quebecers will go to the polls on April 7, it’s seems Quebec politicians are taking a leaf out of Degeneres’ book as they start campaigning.

The CAQ started it off with this picture of its candidates as they waited for Legault to address journalists about their electoral campaign.

Not to be outdone, Philippe Couillard posted this photo of himself and a stunned Laurent Lessard half an hour later.

The Parti Quebecois has yet to share their own selfie, but tomorrow is the first day of campaigning so they will still have plenty time to get into the selfie game and tweet a couple of pictures from the road.
