SASKATOON – For the third consecutive year, Saskatchewan broke its own record for agriculture exports.
Sales in 2013 totalled $11.7 billion, according to the province’s ministry of agriculture.
This was an increase of nearly five per cent over 2012.
Agriculture export markets remain diverse, with sales of at least $100 million worth of Saskatchewan’s products reaching 15 different countries.
The Saskatchewan government is attempting to increase agriculture exports to $15 billion by 2020.
The province’s Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart noted a much improved grain transportation system is needed to achieve this goal.
