EDMONTON – Police are working to identify the body of a woman found in the North Saskatchewan River Sunday afternoon.
The body was found by a boater around 5:30p.m. approximately two kilometers west of the Vinca Bridge in northeastern Strathcona County.
RCMP and the Ft. Saskatchewan Fire Department removed the body from the river and transported it to the Alberta Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
It is unknown how long the woman’s body was in the river for. Police have also been unable to determine her approximate age.
