LISTEN: Coldplay releases single from album due in May

TORONTO — Coldplay announced Monday it will release its sixth album, Ghost Stories, on May 19.

The UK band said fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive an instant download of the new single, “Magic.”

Ghost Stories is the first new collection from Coldplay since 2011’s Mylo Xyloto.

The band released the single “Atlas,” from the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, last year and unveiled “Midnight” from the new album on Feb. 25.

Ghost Stories features nine tracks in all. A deluxe edition with three bonus songs will be available at Target stores in the U.S.
