TORONTO – A fresh slate of new names is slated to join established homegrown brands at the upcoming World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto.

Event organizers IMG Fashion have released a preliminary schedule of labels set to show fall-winter collections next month at David Pecaut Square.

Among the additions to the calendar are Montreal-based designer Brit Wacher and Vancouver luxe label Madame Moje.

A pair of womenswear designers with labels based in Alberta and Quebec will return to the runway to stage a fully produced show as winners of the Mercedes-Benz Start Up competition.

Edmonton’s Malorie Urbanovitch and Cecile Raizonville of Montreal-based Matiere Noire were both named as recipients of the top prize last fall – a first for the contest which is devoted to recognizing emerging designers across Canada.
