REGINA – An innovative school initiative program will return during national non-smoking week in Saskatchewan.

The government announced today ‘View and Vote 5’ will be available province-wide to students in grades 6 to 12 to watch 12 of the world’s best anti-tobacco ads between Jan. 20 to April 30 and voice their opinion.

“We are pleased to offer View and Vote to schools across the province once again,” Health Minister Dustin Duncan said.

The latest health and medical news emailed to you every Sunday.

“This program is a powerful tool to educate young people about harmful effects of smoking or using tobacco products.”

Students will select the ad they feel is most effective in helping them remain tobacco free or make them think about quitting.

The winning ad will be announced on May 31, world no tobacco day, and be aired online and in movie theatres during June.
