TORONTO — Pop superstar Katy Perry was brought to tears Saturday by a unique rendition of her smash hit “Roar.”
Perry said she was moved by a special performance of the song by the China National Orchestra (CNO) in Beijing.
“It’s very beautiful,” she said of the arrangement, according a report. “I’ve never heard my music being played like that. It’s very spiritual to me … I almost cried both my eyelashes off.”

The song, co-written by Canada’s Henry Walter, was performed by more than 100 musicians in the CNO.
At the end of their performance, Perry rose to her feet, applauded and shouted “Bravo!”
The singer was presented with a Xun, a traditional Chinese flute-like instrument. Perry presented the CNO with a autographed acoustic guitar and a copy of her album PRISM.
Perry reportedly said she would welcome a chance to sing “Roar” with the CNO the next time it performs in Los Angeles.
