TORONTO — Fire broke out at the home of Hawaii Five-O star Alex O’Loughlin on Monday.

According to local media reports, the blaze started in the garage of his $4 million home in the Diamond Head area of O’ahu.

“We [heard] this big explosion. It sounded like the door got kicked in,” neighbour Christina Lighter told KHON. “So we ran out front, looking around and we saw this white smoke coming out of the garage.”

Fire fighters who responded were able to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the house.

No one was injured and damage was estimated at $110,000. O’Loughlin told KHON he lost tools, motorcycles and surfboards.

The 39-year-old Australian actor, who plays Det. Steve McGarrett on Hawaii Five-O, was not home at the time of the fire but arrived while fire fighters were still on scene.

In 2006, a home rented by Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly in Hawaii was destroyed by fire.

Lilly, who was filming Lost in Hawaii, shared the home with two roommates but none were home at the time of the blaze.
