SASKATOON – Much of Saskatchewan is under some form of weather warning.
A snowfall warning is in place for the southeast corner of the province.
Environment Canada says a storm system near Estevan will bring over 10 centimetres of snow to the area on Friday.
Snow is expected to last most of the day, leaving 10 to 15 cm of snow on the ground in the warned areas. Visibility will be reduced due to blowing snow.
Elsewhere across southern Saskatchewan, a blowing snow warning is in place, where increasing northerly winds of 60 to 70 km/h will produce extensive blowing snow and whiteout conditions.
In the north, wind chill warnings have been issued, with extreme wind chills of minus 45 to minus 55 expected through the weekend as cold air moves in from the Arctic.
At those extreme values, frostbite on exposed skin can occur in less than five minutes.
