Blue Jays agree to terms with infielder Kawasaki

TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to terms with infielder Munenori Kawasaki on a minor-league contract Tuesday with an invitation to spring training.

Kawasaki appeared in 96 games for the Blue Jays last season. He had a .229 batting average with one home run and 24 RBIs.

The 32-year-old native of Kagoshima, Japan, also played 25 games for triple-A Buffalo last season.

Kawasaki made his major-league debut with Seattle in 2012 and played 61 games for the Mariners.
