TORONTO — An ice storm that disabled public transit and cut off power to hundreds of thousands of Toronto residents wasn’t enough to keep Kanye West from performing Sunday.
The rap superstar’s concert went on as scheduled at the Air Canada Centre.
“Turn up the lights!,” the venue tweeted during the show, which was part of West’s Yeesuz Tour.
More than 250,000 people in the city were left without lights as ice-covered trees brought down hydro lines.

Earlier, the ACC urged fans to “travel safely” on their way to the concert.
Among those enjoying the show was hometown rap star Drake — whom West called a “rap god” — and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
Following the show, West and Drake kept the party going with a champagne-soaked bash at The Hoxton nightclub downtown.
Both rappers took the mic during the party — West performed “Blood on the Leaves,” Drake did “Worst Behavior” and the two collaborated on “Headlines.”
West will wrap up the tour with a second Toronto show on Monday.
