The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called out to Surrey after a body was found this morning.
RCMP say the body was found near 102 Avenue and 124 Street.
“I can confirm that IHIT has taken conduct of this case. Details such as the victim’s age or gender are not known. IHIT is treating this as a Suspicious Death case at this time until further examination of the scene is completed. We are in the first few hours of the investigation and very little is known to us at this time,” says Sgt. Bari Emam of IHIT.
Stephan Dedieu, who lives nearby on Park Drive, heard a loud bang around 11 p.m. last night. He says it sounded like a firework, so he didn’t go outside to check and continued watching TV. Police knocked on his door this morning.
IHIT is asking anyone who was in the area of 124 Street and 102 Avenue prior to 11 a.m. this morning and may have seen any suspicious activities, persons, or vehicle to please call the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip on their website at Solvecrime.ca
