KELOWNA — Hundreds of delegates from across B.C. are heading to Kelowna this coming May for the Liberal party’s biennial convention.
“There’s no better place to bring together Today’s BC Liberals and celebrate the anniversary of our election victory,” said Premier Christy Clark. “It’s only appropriate that we plan for the next three years in Kelowna, the cradle of free enterprise in B.C.”
Clark’s Okanagan MLA counterparts say this is great news for the region.
“Convention 2014 is a great opportunity to show off everything the Okanagan has to offer,” said Kelowna-Lake Country MLA Norm Letnick. “I’m excited that our party’s grassroots members will spend this weekend planning, discussing and celebrating right here beside Okanagan Lake.”
However, the Liberals aren’t the only party who’ve used the Okanagan as a political convention backdrop. In October the B.C. Conservative Party held its Annual General Meeting in Vernon.
