TORONTO – A woman died in hospital after she was pulled from a fire at a residence in East York Friday morning.
The fire began around 7 a.m. on Alder Road near Taylor Creek Trail.

Initial reports indicate the fire started in the attic at the rear of the home.
The elderly woman was believed to have been found on the 2nd floor.
Fire fighters needed to leave the house briefly after it was initally deemed structurally unsafe.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
