Fahmy upset after court delays verdict in journalists’ trial

Egyptian judicial officials said on Thursday a Cairo court has postponed the verdict in the retrial of three Al-Jazeera English reporters until 2 August. The officials say the judge in the case, Hassan Farid, is ill, speaking on condition of anonymity as they weren’t authorised to talk to reporters. The three – Canadian national Mohammed Fahmy, Australian journalist Peter Greste and Egyptian producer Baher Mohammed – were detained in December 2013.
