Are you fascinated by electricity? Do you like to create, to tinker, to putz around with machines and tools? Well, how about spending a morning exploring the inventions of Vernon’s own, Mr. Garry Garbutt. Garbutt is opening up his workshop for interested participants between the ages of 8 to 108 to check out his projects, re-creations of early electrical experiments, tesla engines, and fun experiments. This is an opportunity for the curious minded of all ages to learn and be inspired. Topics depend on participant’s interests. Some potential topics are: tesla coils, steam engines, electrical devices, physics demonstrations, and gidgets and gadgets. “A morning with an Inventor” is part of The Field School Series hosted by the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives who are teaming up with local businesses, organizations, and experts who have “historic skills.” Three dates are being offered as he can only accommodate 6 people per session. “A Morning with an Inventor” takes place at Mr. Garbutt’s Workshop on March 19th, 21st, and 23rd from 10:00 to 11:00am.
