Rick Webber has been a broadcaster for nearly 40 years. He started his career in the 1970’s while in high school, as an after-school radio D.J. in Summerside, PEI. With a father who was an officer in the Canadian Air Force, Rick has seen a lot of the country. The family moved just about every year, from one military base to another. From his hometown of Winnipeg, Rick moved from the Prairies to Ontario to the Maritimes.
Eventually, Rick’s career brought him to British Columbia. After several years in radio programming and news, Rick made the move to television, becoming a news anchor/reporter. After stints on the coast and in the Northwest, Rick arrived in the Okanagan and immediately he knew this is where he wanted to settle down. He currently produces and anchors the 5 p.m. news on Global Okanagan and supervises newsroom operations as Executive Editor.
Rick’s favorite Okanagan activities include motorcycling, both street and back country, and boating.
