David Baxter
David Baxter is a Digital Broadcast Journalist with Global News’ parliamentary bureau in Ottawa. He’s been in the industry for 10 years, starting out in Fort St. John, B.C., before returning to his home province, Saskatchewan.
Much of his time in Saskatchewan was spent covering the Saskatchewan legislature, which included the court challenges against the federal carbon price, the final days of Premier Brad Wall’s term and the Saskatchewan Party leadership race.
In 2020, he moved to the editorial side of the newsroom filling a term as managing editor through the first year of the COVD-19 pandemic.
He joined the Ottawa bureau for the 2021 election campaign and has stuck around Parliament Hill ever since.
