Dave Squires

Producer – Global News Morning

Dave Squires is a dedicated and passionate reporter, host and producer who has been part of the Global Halifax team since 2015.

Dave holds a post-graduate degree in Journalism from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.

He began his career interning with CBC Sports in Toronto as a production assistant. Then, in 2009, he moved back home to St. John’s to get his first taste as a television reporter. He has worked with CBC Newfoundland and Labrador and NTV News covering a variety of news stories from breaking news to in-depth story telling.

In 2015, Dave decided to make the move to Halifax to start a new chapter in his career. Dave started with the Global Halifax Morning News team as the go-to live reporter, but is now producing the show.

When not at work, he loves to travel as much as possible, enjoys baking and playing tennis.

Dave grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
